History

Department of Food Technology and Rural Industries (DFTRI) established in 1964 with other four departments of the faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology. From the beginning, the department offer courses for the degree of B. Sc. Agricultural Engineering and Master of Science in Food Technology. In 2002, Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology started new degree Bachelor of Science in Food Engineering based on Department of Food Technology and Rural Industries. Courses offer related to Food Engineering, Food Technology and Food Science from the Department of Food Technology and Rural Industries. The department newly introduced a new degree Master of Science in Food Engineering along with Master of Science in Food Technology. DFTRI also offer Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Food Engineering and Food Technology.
